Kim Morgan’s Story (SEO)

I was born with an entrepreneurial spirit, no doubt.

I have almost always been self-employed. I mowed lawns for money at age 8. I was barely tall enough to see over the lawn mower handle. I started selling door-to-door when I was 10 – I wasn’t very good at it. I created my own magazine when I was 12 and I got my first real “job” when I was 14.

It wasn’t long after that I realized: I like working for myself WAY better than being on a payroll. Over the years I’ve done all sorts of work and owned a few different businesses. I even wrote a couple of instructional books for software users right after I worked at Macromedia (now Adobe).

I prefer working directly with clients. It’s far more interesting than being handed a project and busting out code for 8 hours. Ugh! That’s just exchanging hours for dollars. (Yawn!)

Today, I am the proud, yet humble, owner of several online businesses that I developed over the last 15 years. When I first started, I was programming e-commerce sites and web applications for others. I got to work with some really awesome clients.

In 2003, I changed my focus from building sites to marketing them. Since that time, I have become an internet marketing expert. I’ve worked in affiliate marketing with merchants such as Walmart, Barnes&Noble, Best Buy, Office Depot – and literally hundreds of other large and small online retailers.

  • 2010 and Beyond – Local and Mobile Marketing

These days I am focused almost entirely on helping small and medium-size businesses with their local online marketing – because a major change in online local marketing is about to occur. I dislike clichés – but this is a paradigm shift if I have ever seen one. This will change the internet forever and will give local markets an opportunity that has never-before existed.
